WORKSHOP : STUDENT AGENCY IN EYFS PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS
Sophie’s workshop explores how to empower young learners to take ownership of their physical development. We will consider the role of student agency in building confidence, independence, and a love of movement, and reflect on the benefits of child-initiated learning and creative environments that inspire active play. The session will focus on adapting opportunities to children’s interests, balancing challenge and support, and embedding both prime and specific areas of learning. We will also look at the importance of involving parents as partners. Participants will leave with practical strategies and a clearer understanding of how student agency can transform physical development in the EYFS.
Takeaway: Leave with practical strategies to embed student agency into physical development, helping young children build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of movement.
