WORKSHOP : The Spectrum of Teaching Styles - A Practical Approach
Join Mike in a practical session where her will provide an overview of Muska Mosston’s Spectrum of Teaching Styles and explore how different approaches can be applied effectively within primary PE. Participants will engage in collaborative activities and have the opportunity to design and adapt their own learning experiences based on selected teaching styles. The workshop will encourage reflection on how varying approaches can support different learners, outcomes, and lesson contexts within physical education.
Takeaway: Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of Mosston’s teaching styles and practical ideas for applying a range of approaches within their own primary PE lessons.
Mike has over 20 years of experience teaching PE, primarily within primary school settings in Hong Kong. He was part of the founding staff team at Harrow Hong Kong as the sole primary PE teacher and is currently teaching at The French International School Hong Kong.
His practice is strongly influenced by constructivism and guided discovery learning, while recognising the value of adapting approaches to suit different contexts and learners.
