WORKSHOP : EYFS Swimming: Foundations for Safe & Confident Learners
Join Cheryl, Rob & Megan as they explore the foundations of creating safe, confident, and positive early swimming experiences for young learners. Participants will be guided through safeguarding practices, the social-emotional preparation children need before entering the water, and effective organisational systems that support successful EYFS swimming lessons. The workshop will also highlight practical resources, including slides, engagement tools, passports, and stickers, before exploring lesson delivery through skill progressions, purposeful equipment use, and the reasoning behind each stage of development.
Takeaway: Participants will leave with practical strategies and ready-to-use resources to support the delivery of engaging and developmentally appropriate EYFS swimming lessons.
Cheryl Philp has coaching experience across Scotland, America, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Libya, and China, working in settings ranging from high-performance national programmes to non-profit summer camps for children with cancer.
