WORKSHOP : From Control to Ownership: Practical Ways to Build Student Agency in Primary PE
Student agency is often discussed in theory, but what does it actually look like in a Primary PE lesson?
In this practical workshop, Chin explores how small shifts in lesson design can create meaningful opportunities for student ownership, voice, and leadership. Through real-world examples and interactive activities, participants will experience strategies such as student-led warm-ups, choice-based challenges, reflective conversations, and collaborative game design.
Rather than focusing on idealised scenarios, this session shares practical approaches, common challenges, and realistic solutions that can be implemented immediately within Primary PE settings.
Takeaway: explore practical approaches that empower students to take greater ownership of their learning in PE.
