Mastering Primary PE Summit - 22 Nov, 2025
WORKSHOP 1 : EYFS CURRICULUM APPROACH & DESIGN - TRUST THE DESIGN
Ben's workshop explores how to design and deliver a purposeful, engaging, and developmentally appropriate PE curriculum for EYFS. It focuses on using the principles of brain architecture to build strong foundations for movement, confidence, and physical literacy, while aligning with wider EYFS learning goals. Drawing on the highly successful approach perfected at The Alice Smith School participants will see how thoughtful curriculum design can nurture children’s physical development while supporting their wider learning journey.
Takeaway: Participants will gain clarity on how to create an EYFS PE curriculum that builds strong foundations for movement and confidence, with practical ideas they can apply straight away.
WORKSHOP 2 : THE POWER OF SPORT ED : THE BEST UNIT OF YOUR YEAR
Ben breaks down the Sport Education model into clear, manageable steps that any teacher can use to transform their PE lessons. Whilst not a new unit for many, Sport Ed can sometimes feel overwhelming or “too big” to implement, this session shows how it can be simplified without losing impact. Ben will discuss the refinements and choices that create a deeper level of learning, whilst making it an easy to manage unit of work for all teachers. Participants will explore how Sport Ed empowers pupils to take ownership of their learning, build teamwork, and create a deep and authentic learning experience.
Takeaway: Participants will leave with simple, ready-to-use strategies as well as to implement Sport Ed in their own setting, making it accessible, engaging, and effective for all.
